Based on long-term cooperation among Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), National University of Laos (NUL) and The Ministry of Education and Sports (MOES), Laos; and the successful partnership of TDTU with Czech Universities since 2012; delegation of Rectors of Czech universities and Director of European Cooperation Center (ECC) visited and worked in Vientiane, Laos at the invitation of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Sports (Laos).
On the afternoon of April 1st, 2019, after a busy working day in Ha Noi, the delegation arrived in Vientiane and was welcomed by the staff of the Department of International Cooperation, MOES at the airport. On the morning of the next day (2/4/19), at National University of Laos, the leader of NUL led by Prof. Phout Simmlavong, Vice-rector of NUL, received the delegation. Leaders of Faculties, Department of International relations, Department of Science and Technology also participated in the reception. The parties debated the possibility of cooperation in master and doctoral program for NUL lecturers and students that has the support and participation of TDTU.
In the afternoon of the same day, Prof. Sisamone STTHIRAJVONGSA, Director General of Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Sports graciously welcomed the delegation. He appreciated achievements of two schools with TDTU, also expressed wishes that in the coming year, NUL would have specific cooperation with Czech universities in general and VSB - Technical University of Ostrava and Tomas Bata University in particular.
The delegation's working visit in Vientiane was successful. On the morning of April 3rd, the delegation left for Ho Chi Minh City to participate in the Conference to establish the Association of International Universities (University Consortium International, UCI) at TDTU.
