On the morning of April 1st, at the Government Office, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam welcomed and worked with the Rectors of Universities of the Czech Republic and Dr. Phan Dao, Director of Bata Center.
Prof. V. Snasel, rector of VSB Technical University of Ostrava & prof. V. Sedlarik, rector of Tomas Bata University reported to the Deputy Prime Minister the achievements of cooperation between the two universities and Vietnamese universities, especially on the part-time doctoral program (sandwich) between 2 universities with Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU).
Prof. V. Snasel and prof. P. Saha (former rector of Tomas Bata University and former President of the World Polymer Association) proposed to the Deputy Prime Minister Dam to consider creating favorable conditions for Czech universities to participate in the doctoral study program of the Government of Vietnam; to participate in scientific research and technology transfer cooperation with key universities in Vietnam; recognition of the sandwich program diploma, to support the establishment of a Czech-Vietnamese Education Institute in Vietnam in 2020, the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Czech Republic.
The Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the achievements of the two universities in Vietnam and assigned Deputy Minister Le Hoai An, to directly address the proposals of the two universities. Mr. Dam asked Dr. Phan Dao, Director of Bata Center, through the Vietnam Association in the Czech Republic, to develop a program to bring students and young people in the Vietnamese community in Central - Eastern Europe to visit and study in Vietnam; build cooperation programs for education and vocational training for students, and students can also go to the Czech Republic and Central - Eastern European countries to study and work.
Prof. V. Snasel on behalf of the delegation thanked and cordially invited the Vice President to visit the University and Moravian-Silesian Province during his visit in Czech Republic. The meeting with The Deputy Prime Minister was a great success.
