From April 8, 2017 to April 11, 2017, the European Cooperation Center - Ton Duc Thang University welcomed and worked with Prof. VáclavSnášel, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Technical University of Ostrava.
Although the trip only lasted for 4 days, thanks to the enthusiasm, devotion of Prof. VáclavSnášel, along with the reasonable support and arrangement from the European Cooperation Center, Prof. VáclavSnášel has an effective working program with a wide range of activities throughout his schedule.
Main activities during this time of Prof. VáclavSnášel was a lecturer for Ph.D students of doctorals Sandwich program. Most of the students were well prepared for the lessons and be appreciated on the spirit of learning and research. During 4 lessons lasting from April 8, 2017 to April 11, 2017, the interaction between Ph.D students and Professor was a lot and helpful. At the end of each lesson, most students successfully completed the specialized exams. Besides, in order to improve the quality of Ph.D students instruction activities, Prof. VáclavSnášel also discussed with other assitantinstructors to improve the teaching methods suitable for the conditions and capacity of Ph.D students of the doctorals Sandwich program.
Also in this visit, Prof. VáclavSnášel had a discussion about cooperation issues in training and research with deans of the Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of Mathematics – Statistics, Faculty of Civil Engineering, International Cooperation, Research and Training Institute INCRETI.
On the afternoon of April 11, 2017, Prof. Le Vinh Danh - Rector of Ton Duc Thang University and Prof. VáclavSnášel had a fine visit together. At the meeting, Prof. Le Vinh Danh thanked Prof. VáclavSnášel for his support and congratulated the Professor on his appointment as Rector of Technical University of Ostrava in term of 2017-2021. They affirmed to extend cooperation between two universities in many fields, including: i) Exchange lecturers and students; ii) Expand the affiliate training programs; iii) Expand the specialties of doctorals Sandwich program; iv) Develop collaborative research programs with businesses; v) Expand bilateral cooperation to multilateral level with some universities in Southeast Asia. The meeting was in an openness atmosphere, based on the goodwill spirit and long-term cooperation desire of two sides, once again affirmed the stable cooperation between Ton Duc Thang University and Technical University of Ostrava.
On the same day, Prof. VáclavSnášel came back to his country, successfully completed his time at Ton Duc Thang University. During his trip, he always appreciated the warm and thoughtful welcome from the School Board, Dr. Phan Dao - Director of European Cooperation Center and his staffs. He also expressed his hope to return Ton Duc Thang University in the shortest time.
