"The European Union (EU) in today’s world" - the main subject of Ton Duc Thang University's (TDTU) public lecture program in May 2018 with two speakers: Mr. Bruno Angelet, Ambassador, Head of EU delegation to Vietnam and HE Mr. Vítězslav Grepl, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Vietnam in the afternoon of May 31st, 2018 in Hall A.
Mr. Bruno Angelet with elaborate speech introduced the history of the formation of the EU; the development of the EU in the present and future context; Brexit problem; EU-Vietnam relations and bilateral negotiations on the EVFTA free trade agreement. Mr Vítězslav Grepl, gave a detailed account of the history of the Czech Republic's socio-economic development and society, and Czech participation in the EU; he let the listener learn more about the difference between the two countries and also presented the advanced European education; new directions in study, research; and about the participatation in educational programs between TDTU and Czech Republic universities such as Tomas Bata University; Technical University of Ostrava, University of Economics, Prague, University of Pardubice. Lecturers and students of the program have also talked directly with two speakers on immigration, study and working policies for Vietnamese citizens in EU countries.
The two ambassadors were very successful with many questions from students and lecturers. After the lecture, they took the time to visit the European Cooperation Center and the Bata Centre.
