Professors of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic visited and worked with Ton Duc Thang University

On the basis of the doctoral sandwich training program implement, the European Cooperation Center is pleased to invite the four members, associate professors and professors of the Faculty of Civil Engineering (FCE) ), Technical University of Ostrava,who visited and worked with Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) from April 15 until April 22.
The main mission of the delegation was to teach and instruct the PhD students in sandwich form, who attended the International Conference on sustainable development in construction, planning and traffic engineering (The 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Development in Civil, Urban and Transport Engineering – CUTE2018).
During this period, doctoral students reported their studies and were guided and taught by the professors for each research group; At the end of the course, the students took the examination of specialized subjects and were instructed to write an article for the conference in May 2019 at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Technical University of Ostrava and the doctoral state examinations.
Prof. Radim Cajka, Dean of FCE, also discussed the scholarship with the tutors, professional advisors of the doctoral students, including Prof. Nguyen Trong Hoa, former vice president of the University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Hien, Dean of Faculty of Transportation Engineering, Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport.
The delegation also worked with Director of the European Cooperation Center (ECC) and Dean of Faculty of Civil Engineering on a number of collaborative research topics and the Erasmus plus program. The ECC also spoke with Prof. R. Cajka, Dean of FCE on tuition fees. With the current high tuition fees, it is very difficult for the Center to carry out this program in the upcoming years.

Reportedly, Technical University of Ostrava is the fourth largest university in the Czech Republic with nearly 20,000 students enrolled in degree programs in seven faculties. In 2016, for the first time, the University entered TOP500 of the best universities in the world according to THE (Times Higher Education World University Ranking, www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings). Cooperation programs between the two universities will continue to be deepened and expanded.
In the afternoon of 22 April, the delegation returned to the Czech Republic, finishing their mission.
