Following their voyage to the Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago, members of the Czech Vietnamese community continued their homeland journey by participating in the 2026 Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony in Phu Tho Province and a series of activities in Lang Son Province. The continuity from Vietnam’s seas and islands to its ancestral roots and borderlands not only created a meaningful journey but also deepened the sense of attachment, responsibility, and connection of overseas Vietnamese communities toward their homeland.
As part of a program organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, on April 25, 2026, the Czech Vietnamese delegation joined more than 60 overseas Vietnamese delegates from 20 countries and territories in offering incense at the Hung Kings Historical Relic Site in Phu Tho Province. The activity carried profound significance, reflecting the enduring spirit of remembering one’s roots and honoring national traditions among Vietnamese communities abroad.
The delegation also held a working session with the leadership of Phu Tho Province. Representing the Czech delegation, Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang discussed opportunities for socio-economic cooperation and emphasized the important bridging role played by overseas Vietnamese communities in fostering international connections.
On April 26, Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang and Ms. Nguyen Thi Kien, representatives of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe, attended the Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony and had the honor of welcoming General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and State President To Lam during the event.
Dr. Phan Dao continued participating in the overseas Vietnamese delegation’s activities in Lang Son Province, including meetings with provincial leaders, offering incense in remembrance of fallen heroes in the Dong Dang area, visiting Border Marker No. 1116 at Huu Nghi International Border Gate, exchanging with and presenting gifts to teachers and students of Dong Dang Primary School, and meeting officers and soldiers stationed at the Huu Nghi International Border Guard Post.
The program concluded with a meeting hosted by Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, at the Committee’s headquarters in Hanoi, in a warm atmosphere of connection and solidarity.
This homeland journey, following immediately after the visit to the Truong Sa Archipelago, left deep and lasting impressions, helping each member of the delegation gain greater understanding, stronger pride, and a deeper bond with their homeland and country.
