Following a successful working program in Hanoi on May 4, 2026, the delegation from the Faculty of Economics, University of South Bohemia (FE USB, Czech Republic), continued its visit to Ho Chi Minh City to conduct a series of working activities with units of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) from May 5 to May 11, 2026.
The delegation included:
- JUDr. Zdeněk Strnad, Ph.D. – Vice Chairman of the Academic Senate, University of South Bohemia;
- Assoc. Prof. Ladislav Rolínek, Ph.D. – Vice Dean, Faculty of Economics, University of South Bohemia;
- JUDr. Martin Slobodník, Ph.D. – Head of the Department of Law, Faculty of Economics, University of South Bohemia.
As part of the working program, the delegation held meetings with the European Cooperation Center (ECC), the Faculty of Law, and the Faculty of Business Administration to further strengthen educational cooperation, scientific research collaboration, and academic exchange activities between the two institutions.
A highlight of the program was a series of international lectures delivered directly by faculty members from the University of South Bohemia to nearly 30 students from the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Business Administration at TDTU. The academic topics focused on:
- European Union Law (EU Law);
- European Business Law;
- Insolvency Law in the European Union.
The program was funded and jointly organized by the European Cooperation Center (ECC), thereby contributing to the enhancement of TDTU’s international learning environment and providing students with opportunities to gain exposure to European legal standards.
On May 11, 2026, students who successfully completed the program were awarded certificates of participation, marking another practical and meaningful international cooperation activity between the two universities.
In addition to teaching activities, the delegation also held professional discussions with the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Business Administration regarding future directions for implementing international courses through blended learning models (online and offline), expanding student exchange programs, promoting joint research activities, increasing international publications, and co-organizing scientific conferences.
The delegation also met with the leadership of the Faculties of Business Administration, Finance and Banking, and Accounting regarding a planned working visit to the Czech Republic in September 2026. The discussions opened up broader opportunities for academic networking and professional collaboration among the participating units.
Notably, starting from 2027, the Faculty of Economics, University of South Bohemia, is expected to annually send groups of 10–15 students to participate in short-term study programs at TDTU’s Faculty of Law and Faculty of Business Administration. This initiative is considered an important milestone in advancing the internationalization of higher education between institutions in Vietnam and the Czech Republic.
This working visit further reaffirmed the role of the European Cooperation Center (ECC), Ton Duc Thang University, not only as a unit directly implementing numerous international cooperation programs with European partners — including the highly successful blended doctoral education cooperation model developed in recent years — but also as a strategic connector supporting and promoting international collaboration among faculties, institutes, and units within Ton Duc Thang University.
Through educational activities, scientific research collaboration, academic exchange programs, and the development of international partnership networks, ECC continues to contribute to the implementation of the University’s internationalization strategy while further promoting higher education cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic.
As Vietnam–Czech Republic relations continue to develop positively, cooperation programs between higher education institutions of both countries are expected to expand further, contributing to high-quality human resource development, innovation enhancement, and stronger international collaboration in the new development era.
