On the morning of September 23, 2022, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) solemnly held the Ceremony of the 25th Anniversary of the University (September 24, 1997 - September 24, 2022), receiving the Third-class Labor Medal from the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and the University Ranking Certificates from Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
Attendees from the Central agencies were Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; Mr. Dang Ngoc Tung - Former Member of the Party Central Committee, Former Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; Leaders of the Committees of the General Confederation of Labour; Dr. Vu Thanh Binh - Deputy Director of the Science, Technology & Environment Department, Ministry of Education and Training; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Vice Chairman of the Science, Technology and Environment Committee of the National Assembly.
From the diplomatic agencies, there were Ms. Khanthaly Siriphongphanh - Deputy Minister of Education and Sports of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic; Mr. Hynek Kmonicek - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic in Vietnam; Mr. Enrico Padula - Consul General of the Italian Republic in Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Szojka Éva Szilvia - Consul General of Hungary in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Daniel Coenraad Stork - Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Sok Dareth - Consul General of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City; and Mr. Ho-Hsien - Education Counselor, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office.
The program also welcomed Members of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of An Giang, Kon Tum, Quang Ngai provinces; Chairmen, Vice Chairman of People’s Committees, leaders of Departments of Education & Training, Departments of Science & Technology, Departments of Planning & Investment, Boards of Directors of high schools in provinces, including Gia Lai, Lam Dong, Binh Dinh, Binh Thuan, An Giang, Quang Ngai, Dong Thap, Kontum.
Leaders of 20 foreign universities and educational organizations and professional associations attended the event along with leaders and representatives of more than 20 domestic universities and 30 enterprises that are partners of the TDTU.
Report summarizing 25 years of construction and development of TDTU, Dr. Tran Trong Dao - Acting president presented 10 important achievements of the 25-year journey; at the same time, thank the organizations, state agencies from central to local levels, friendly domestic and foreigner partners for accompanying, supporting and cooperating with TDTU during the past time.
Dr. Phan Dao - Director of European Cooperation Center, cum Director of the Bata Center of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) is one of two individuals to receive the TDTU President Award in the field of international cooperation with achievements "For the important and meaningful contributions to the development of international relations of the Ton Duc Thang University in the past 25 years”.
As Director of the Center for European Cooperation and Director of the Bata Center at TDTU, Dr. Phan Dao has made many contributions in developing the cooperation relationship between TDTU and universities in the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia, Italy... Many important cooperation programs in training, science and technology between TDTU and Czech universities have been effectively implemented, especially the Sandwich doctoral training program; develop business cooperation programs with localities; organized international seminars and conferences and welcomed many delegations of Czech and German leaders to visit and work with TDTU.
Besides the ceremony to celebrate the 25th Founding Anniversary, many other events were also organized such as the International Business Forum on Trade, Investment and Tourism; International Education Cooperation Forum, Ton Duc Thang University Traditional Day, 25 years - Returning day of alumni, and many other meaningful activities.
