The Parliamentary delegation of the Czech Republic visited Ton Duc Thang University

On the morning of June 8th, 2018, on the occasion of an official visit to Vietnam, the Parliamentary delegation of Czech Republic led by Václav Klaus, Chairman of the Czech Republic's Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sports visited Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) and had a talk with TDTU lecturers and students.
Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Le Vinh Danh, President of TDTU welcomed and conveyed sincere thanks to the Parliament of Czech Republic. In the past, TDTU and other leading universities in the Czech Republic had successful educational and scientific cooperation, which contributed significantly to the development of comprehensive relations between the two countries. Prof. Lê Vinh Danh emphasized that this good relation will continue to develop between TDTU and Czech Republic’s universities and businesses in the upcoming time; and the visit of the Chairman of Parliament of the Czech Republic in 2015 as well as this visit will have a positive impact on TDTU's goal of cooperation.
On the same day, Mr. Václav Klaus, Chairman of the Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport of the Czech Republic, had a talk with TDTU lecturers and students on "Education in the 21st Century: Eastern or Western". He said that after nearly 70 years of establishing diplomatic relations between Czech Republic and Vietnam, the Czech Republic has opened up a lot of opportunities and favorable conditions for Vietnamese students with reasonable training standards and fees compared to studying abroad in the United States or England. In addition, it is easy to see Vietnamese-speaking people in many universities in the Czech Republic such as: Tomas Bata University, Technical University of Ostrava and University of Chemistry and Technology and other universities which have intimate relationship with TDTU. Mr. Václav Klaus also gave TDTU students 03 advices to train and improve themself: firstly, read a lot; secondly, constantly improve the language skills and finally, do not forget the role of mathematics- the foundation science subject.
At the end of the working session, the Czech Parliamentary Delegation visited to European Cooperation Center and Bata Centre office, and had a friendly and open exchange with the Director of the Center thanks to this meaningful visit. 
The visit of the Parliamentary delegation of the Czech Republic ended well. This important event demonstrated TDTU’s international level, a model university that has welcomed many heads of state as well as international politicians to visit and have a talk with students and continues to open opportunities for educational and scientific cooperation for Vietnam in general and TDTU in particular.
