Opening Ceremony of Doctorate of Sandwich program for the 2017-2018 academic year.


Together with two Ph.D students of the first course, in November 2016 successfully defended their Ph.D. thesis at the Doctoral dissertation council, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Technical University of Ostrava; has been gradually asserting it ’s position for learners and society.

In the afternoon of Sept 23rd 2017, in the framework of the activities celebrating the 20th anniversary of TDTU, the Opening Ceremony of the 5 th course of Doctorate of Sandwich program was organized.

Attending the Opening Ceremony, Ton Duc Thang University has Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Vice- Rector, Dr. Vo Hoang Duy, Vice Rector, Dr. Phan Dao, Director of European Cooperation Center, the Bata Centre and the Dean of Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of the Environment and Labour Safety, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Foreign Languages … and Mr. Le Hai Thanh, Head of Department of Graduate Studies. On the side of the partner universities, there are: Prof. Vaclav Snasel, Rector of Technical University of Ostrava; Prof. Petr Saha, Rector of Tomas Bata University; Prof. Drahomira Pavelkova, Assoc. Prof. Adriana Knapkova, Vice Rector of Tomas Bata University; Dr. Renata Tomaskova, Vice Rector, University of Ostrava; Assoc. Prof. Vit Vondrak, Director of  IT4 Supercomputer Center, Technical University of Ostrava; Assoc. Prof. David Tucek, Dean of Faculty of Management and Economics, Tomas Bata University; Prof. Jindrich Soukup, Faculty of Business Administration, University of Economics, Prague and professors from other Czech universities. Particularly, the organizers welcomed H.E. Mr. Vítězslav Grepl, Head of Mission Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Vietnam.

Dr. Phan Dao, Director of the European Cooperation Center and Bata Centre on behalf of the university gave the opening remarks and overall evaluation and congratulated the successful cooperation between Ton Duc Thang University and the Universities of the Czech Republic. He hoped that this cooperation will continue to grow in the future.

Prof. Vaclav Snasel, Rector, Technical University of Ostrava and Prof. Petr Saha, President of Tomas Bata University congratulated and handed over the decision to enroll 31 graduate students admitted to the Doctorate of Sandwich program between TDTU and VŠB – TU Ostrava; TBU and UCT-Prague, in 2017-2018 with majors: Technical Cybernetics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Communication Technology, Computational and Applied Mathematics, Fire Protection and Industrial Safety, Finance, Management and Economics, Biochemistry and Microbiology.

Mr. Vitezlav Grepl expressed his gratitude to the leader of Ton Duc Thang University, thanks to the successful cooperation between TDTU and other universities in the Czech Republic, thanks to Dr. Phan Dao who built this program. He wished the students to continute studying well, research and contribute to the scientific, technological and commercial cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic.

In the joyful space of the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lan, new Ph.D student , a former RMIT University also, representing all Ph.D students participated in the speech, he said: “Coming to the course, I learned about the course quite well and then grasped the advantages of the program, I did not hesitate to decide to participate, I will try my best to complete the course. He expressed his gratitude to ECC, Ton Duc Thang University and Tomas Bata University in Zlin which he will come to study in. The opening ceremony opened a new school year promising much success for Ph.D students.
